help unsure what to do

Seeing the Gigantic Whirlpool ahead, the captain categorically refuses to sail further, as he is unwilling to condemn the ship to certain destruction. cant go into dark water???

You should do the "Journey to the Frozen Islands" questline which starts with the quest "Device From the Bottom of the Casket/Chest" and goes on with "Mysterious Plate" and "Journey to the Frozen Islands" quests if you are trying to reach Islands of Eternal Frost.
