Ling pet hunting - no essences

I spent 2 hours hunting with ling pet a few days ago - got no essences.

Had ghostly vision on.
All mobs were of my level or higher.

Probably a bug with pet as a whole, all my other pet kinds do deliver essences.

You only get essences if you have called a pet of level 5 or above. Your pet ling is level 4.
