How to obtain Pile of Papers:
1. Chance to get some from Secret locations (Plateau of Silence, Haunted Place, Ship graveyard, etc. etc.).2. Chance to get from using Magic Wand.
3. 1 guaranteed Pile of Papers in Catacombs Library by clicking on the shelf.
4. Chance to get them from Gnome Caskets.
5. Various quests in the world of Faeo as a reward for completing the quest.
6. Can be bought from Rare Resources Store.
7. Some various Influence events, where you get them as a reward.
8. Chance to get some by opening Mysterious Coffers (from Derelict House ; King Magish).
9. Ranger Camp - sending pets on mission to search for items.
10. Buying from other players, if someone compiles 3 Pile of Papers into Elt cube, you receive 1 Pile of Papers stack, that is transferrable and sellable to other players in auction or trade. Upon using it, you receive 1 Pile of Papers.
11. Rolling Dice in Gift of Heaven and getting Pile of Papers as a reward.

It's possible to receive the piles of papers in the following ways:

1. It can be found in the stashes in the world of Faeo depending on the player's luck. The locations are as follows:
-Plateau of Silence
-Fay-Go (Haunted Place)
-Caches in instances such as the Kretches' Lair or Bogelf Swamp
-Ship Graveyard
-Mystras City
Other than these places, players are guaranteed to receive the piles of papers once every day in the library of underground catacombs.
2. There's a chance to drop Piles of Papers from the magic wand or its upgraded versions.
3. There's a chance to drop Piles of Papers from the Dwarf Caskets that are received by activating dwarf runes (any colour except for red).
4. There's a chance to receive Piles of Papers from regular events. These are including but not limited to:
-Graveyard Lights, by gathering the lights in the hunting screen.
-Magic of the Stone, by gathering stones in the hunting screen.
-The Provocateur's Voice, by killing the Provocateur instigator.
5. There's a chance to receive Piles of Papers by opening Battered/Wonderful/Elaborate/Precious/Privy Coffer, which can be received by doing the Hunters of the Undead instances like Derelict House or Palaces of King Magish.
6. There's a chance to receive Piles of Papers as an extra reward when players claim the bags that the pets bring in the ranger camp in their estates. (It depends on the pets' skills. More specifically, proficiency skill to receive these extra rewards)
7. It can be bought from Rare Resources Store during the special event Rare Items for a Special Price.
