Magic runes (for weapon) gone?

Hi! I haven't played for a while (about a year or so). As I came back - my unicorn sword/dagger misses green runes which were adding few extra points to wisdom (magic...). A mentor told me that some weeks ago there was some sort of update which adjusted "magic" items...
Well, I am just lvl 8 and these runes were useless... Reaching lvl 11 isn't in my plans for the next 10 years :koldun: But, those runes were pretty expensive.
Sorry for asking this stupid question... But: is there any compensation that I missed?

your magic runes were now built into the weapons.
