Guidebook for novices

Greetings, novice warrior! You are starting your journey in Dragon War and this short guide will help you get to know the game better.

Once you have successfully registered for the online game Dragon War, you will be taken to a town. Which one it is depends on which race you chose when you registered. If you are a human, you will arrive in O'Delvais, if you are a Magmar, in Dartrong. There you will be greeted by the heads of the settlements  Chief Kort in Klesva and  Chief Torgor in Chernag, who will ask you for help in the battle with enemies.

 Chief Kort Chief Torgor

This is the beginning of your journey in the fantasy world of Feo in the role-playing game Legend: Legacy of the Dragons.

At the start of the game, you are given a blessing that increases your attributes for a while:

The blessing disappears when you reach the 2nd level or after one week. Your character will also receive 5 silver coins and the opportunity to learn the first super blow in battle.

Pay attention to the recommendations in the chat, which are written in italics; they contain tips that will help you in the game.

There are rules in the game that you should adhere to in order to avoid receiving curses as a punishment in the game that limit your playing options. The Order of Guards ensures order in the game. You can get help with game questions from the Mentors. You can recognise them by their sign  next to their nickname.

In the world of Faeo, there are various development paths and a variety of activities for a true warrior:

  • Hunting the many monsters that inhabit the fantasy world of Faeo.
  • Completing quests - special assignments from the inhabitants of Faeo.
  • Taking part in events from the beginning of your life in this interesting and restless world.

 BATTLE

To fulfil one mission or another, you will often have to fight monsters and representatives of the other race in the War of Dragons role-playing game. You won't get far without basic knowledge of fighting techniques:

After the battle begins, you will see the battle view in front of you.

Fight screen with "three swords" combat system

Your character is on the left and your opponent is on the right. Three swords are displayed in the centre of the screen. Click on one of these swords to select one of three strikes: to the head (top), to the body (centre) or to the legs (bottom). You can also stand in the block (button on the left), which halves the power of your opponent's blows, but then your blows are only half as strong. The time countdown at the top of the window shows you how much time you have to execute your strike.

You will see the following information during and after the fight:

Dodge - the character avoids the strike (the probability depends on the character's characteristics).
Block - the character blocks the blow (the probability depends on the character's characteristics).
Critical strike (red number) - increased strike against the opponent (the probability depends on the character's characteristics).
Waiting for opponent - your opponent is currently fighting with other players on your side.
Defeat - unfortunately, your opponent has proved to be stronger and you must visit the nearest temple to revive yourself for further heroic deeds.
Victory - you were stronger than your opponent and have won the battle.

You can see the progress of your strikes in battle in the window between the chat and the location's player list:

If you click on the button with the magnifying glass magnifying glass , you can see the battle log in an extra window.

During the fight, you should make sure that you keep the time until the time-out (time countdown) for each hit in order not to miss the hit. If you miss the strike three times in a row, an auto strike will be performed; you will only die automatically due to a time-out in the case of attack kretches.

At the end of the fight, you will see a statistics table showing the damage you and the other participants in the fight have caused, as well as the experience gained in the fight.

 -  the little bag in the statistics table opposite your nickname means that you (or your team) have inflicted the most damage in this battle and that you will receive the valuables from the monster.

At the beginning, during and at the end of the battle, you will see information texts in the chat. They will also inform you of the valuables you have received:

In the statistics window, you will see several options for continuing the game after the battle:

Location - takes you back to the screen that shows your current location.
Backpack - quick access to the contents of your backpack.
Hunting - loads the window in which you can continue the hunt.

You are relatively safe from enemies of the other race on your continent, so aggressive monsters are a danger for now. Nevertheless, you have the opportunity to take part in battles with the opposing race almost everywhere except in the large settlements and towns.

  • At the beginning, you can take part in a battle in the arena of the settlement or town. To do this, you must enter the arena from the centre of the town and select the type of battle you wish to take part in.
  • The following battle types are available in the arena: Duels, Group battles and Chaotic battles.
    •  Duels: you either have to submit an entry for a fight and wait until another player accepts your entry, or you can accept one of the existing entries.
    • Group battles: In group battles, you can join any group if there is a report and the group has not yet reached the required number of fighters. You can also register for a group fight yourself.
    • Chaotic battles: in this type of battle, all players are entered in an overall registration list and divided into two equal groups after the start of the battle.

The information in the top left-hand corner of the screen shows you how close you are to the next level.

The long green bar shows how much experience you need to gain to reach the next level. When you reach 33.4% and 66.7%, you will receive promotions, which will be communicated to you in the chat.

The red bar shows your life energy. If you have less than 30% of your original life energy, you cannot be attacked.

The darker blue bar shows the level of your mana, the magical energy (activated when you reach the 11th level).

The lighter blue bar shows the level of your energy, used for estate buildings (activated when you purchase an estate at level 5).

The main menu is located at the top right next to your character information. It contains various buttons with further useful information. The small red dot with the white arrow means that the corresponding area has a submenu. By the way, you can move all menu items individually by dragging them with the mouse as you wish.

 BACKPACK

The ‘Backpack’ button (first sub-item from the left) opens your character's inventory. In the window that opens, you will see a picture of your character, your current armor and attributes on the left. Your game level is displayed below the picture.

To the right of your character's picture, you can see all the items you are carrying in your rucksack. They are divided into different compartments.

Below the compartment bar on the left, you can always see the total number of items in your rucksack and the maximum number you can carry (capacity). If you want to increase your capacity, you can buy a larger rucksack in the shop.

You can always see your current money balance below the compartment bar on the right.

Click here for the guide to super blows.

We continue in the main menu. The ‘Location’ button (second from the left) takes you back to the screen, specifically to the location you are in.

The ‘Hunt’ button (third from left) allows you to search the location for huntable monsters.

The menu item ‘Game character’ (fourth from left) consists of several submenus in which you can find all the information about your game character.

Achievements (first sub-item from the left)- Here you can see your overall progress in the game and in the various sub-areas such as monsters, quests or battlegrounds. You can also add special smileys to your achievement points.
Clan (second sub-item from the left) - if you are a member of a clan, you can find basic information about your clan here (composition, members, ranks, etc.).

Contacts (second sub-item from the right) - you can add players who are important to you to your friends list, in which case you will receive a message when they appear in the game or leave it. The list of enemies in turn helps you to ignore those you don't like.
Referrals (sub-item on the far right) - Here you can see an overview of your referrals - users who have been recruited into the game using your invitation link, as well as a banner list for posting advertising links.

Let's continue in the main menu. The ‘Battlefields’ button (fifth from the left) takes you to an overview of all battlegrounds and you also have the option of registering directly for a battleground without having to go there first. Click here for a Description of the Battlefields in the game.

In the ‘Maps’ menu item (sixth from the left) you will find two maps: a ‘World map’ and an ‘Instance map’, which will help you find your way around.

The ‘Events’ button (sixth from the right) shows you a list of the adventures and events that regularly take place in Feo - with time and location.

The ‘Fights’ button (fifth from the right) shows all battles in this location.

The Bank and Auction buttons (third and fourth from the right) allow you to go directly to the bank from almost any location to replenish your funds or to the auction to keep up to date with the latest offers.

The News and Forum buttons (far right) are links that will take you to current information or to the forum area of the Dragon War role-playing game.

There is another, smaller menu on the right-hand side of the screen to help you find your way around the game and fulfil your tasks.

Mail - This area allows you to send and receive letters from almost anywhere.

Battle backpack - In the battle backpack you will find various amulets etc., which you can use to summon monsters on the enemy in battle.

Animal - If you have one, you can saddle your mount in the game and call it to carry you on its back.

Compass - A very important tool for orientation. With the Navigation Compass in War of Dragons, you can move around the world of Feo particularly quickly and easily, as you can use it to find your way to a specific resource, monster or inhabitant of the world of Feo.

Professions - here you will find information on the professions you have learnt, the recipes you have learnt and your achievements. You can find out more in the Description of the Professions.

Quests - information about the tasks you have accepted and their status. You can read more about quests in the Quest Manual.

In many locations in the fantasy world of Feo, you can also use the Mini-Map for orientation in addition to the Navigation Compass: click on the red arrow button on the left-hand side of the game window and the mini-map with your current location will open directly:

 CHAT

One of the most important elements of the War of Dragos online game interface is the chat. The chat is characterised by the fact that it is divided into several channels that are intended for communication in different subject areas. This minimises the amount of unnecessary information received. The following bar at the bottom of the game window is responsible for managing the chat channels:

The buttons for all chat channels can be arranged as you wish, this is the default layout (listed from left to right):

  1. Main channel of the location
  2. Trade channel
  3. Clan channel (membership of the clan required)
  4. Group channel (membership of the group required)
  5. Alliance channel (alliance membership required)
  6. Fight channel
  7. Group Search channel

The channels you are watching in a specific channel can be modified by pressing the cogwheel next to each channel, the channel you are sending messages to is highlighted in red. Please observe the game's chat rules to ensure pleasant communication with each other.

Further tips can be found in the beginner's questions in the forum.
