GAME NEWS

The world of Faeo is full of secrets and mysteries; you just never know what's lurking round the next corner, a vicious enemy or a treasure trove! But such uncertainty does not frighten adventure seekers, who are always ready to risk everything for the sake of some old coins or a valuable artefact.

And now there is good news for these adrenaline junkies. After the recent volcanic eruption, which sent lava spewing and tremors rumbling, a great fissure opened up in the earth, revealing an underground secret cave.

The dark and dusty catacombs. You'll need a torch down there...

But it is not just any old cave; it is a secret hiding place for ancient treasures, which were hidden there by the great mages of the past who left a real dragon behind to guard them for all eternity. Only the most idle of warriors would fail to be interested by these treasures and not head straight there to try their luck. The wise men prophesy that some of Faeo's most valuable artefacts are hidden away in this underground world! They are sure that such artefacts as the Klesh Sarcophagus, the Goblet of Baddukh and the Bugle of Lost Souls are down there! But the most important discovery believed to be lying in wait is the Amulet of Call - Striagorn!

It is time for warriors to seize their swords and axes and hurry to do battle with the giant guard dragon, unmatched by anything else on Faeo, until they have their hands on them. But the treasure is not the only secret held in the underground cave! One warrior who recently, by some miracle, returned from the catacombs, uttered with his last breath: "Forgotten library...secret knowledge". What he was talking about, no one knows, but perhaps you will unravel the secret of his words. Maybe you are the warrior who is fated to conquer the dragon and become the owner of the treasures?!

The Catacombs can be entered via the Square of Fire and the Settlement of Klesva, by  Magmars and  Humans, respectively. To enter the Catacombs, you will need a torch, which you can buy from a Mercenary shop if you have 500 reputation of any of the Mercenary clans.

Warning! The Catacombs are seriously tough and not location for novices or individuals. Transfer times are high and some of the monsters are the toughest in Faeo. You have been warned!

Hunters of the Undead, with 2000 reputation, can buy the essential Catacombs battle items from the Hunters of the Undead repository.

 Game Guide Updates10.09.2008 16:08

Esteemed warriors,

We have today updated all our Books of Knowledge. Although most of the information is the same, we have re-written some parts to make them more understandable and updated some of the images and terms. In addition, we have added the following new guides:

The Navigator
Guide to Consumable Items
Executioner
Locksmith

We will be updating and improving other areas of the Infoportal over the coming weeks and hope you find the changes useful.

Whilst collecting resources, players may now find themselves the lucky finders of some Faean delicacies (berries, beetles or crayfish). However, they may also experience a rather unfortunate sequence of events which leads to them getting an injury. The injury can be healed with the help of a first-aid kit.

You can get hold of one of these useful little first-aid kits by completing the quest Drunk on Blood, which  Samuel the Cleric and  Pymen the Monk are waiting to give you. The quest is available from level 3.

 Mercenary Reputations03.09.2008 16:15

Glorious, gallant warriors! We take great pleasure in introducing to you three new factions in Faeo! Every Faean warrior has the right to join one of these new factions and to build a reputation amongst all other members as the greatest. The history of these factions and their emergence in Faeo is rooted deep in history and began after a serious conflict, the details of which can be found here, when a powerful clan of legendary warriors broke into three separate clans: the Night Stealers, the Red Axes and the Stone Lotus. Each of these newly-formed clans advocates their own laws and rules of behaviour which they believe form the true essence of a mercenary, feeding a fierce enmity between the clans. Although they have not yet come to blows in an all-out war, the clans have been in a state of cold war for decades, recruiting Humans and Magmars to their cause and turning them into professional mercenaries.

The main work of the mercenary clans is to complete the orders placed by inhabitants from all corners of Faeo. Read on...

 Science Symposium29.08.2008 19:18

A new quest is now available for level 6 and above warriors.

The scholars  Avelius and  Globius are preparing for a scientific symposium on the theme of Classifying Monsters from a Different Era, which is taking place any day now. Both the scholars want to distinguish themselves at this meeting of Faeo's greatest minds and, with not a hint of suspicion that anyone else is up to the same thing, they are both planning to build a model Rukkub, a horrifying monster which once lived in the Haunted Place on the Isles of Fay-Go many centuries ago, but which is now extinct.

Warriors! You have been summoned by your Dragons to stand up and be counted! Chaos is preparing yet another invasion of Faeo, another attempt to seize our world from us. He has already dispatched a battalion of Gungl Scouts into our world to conduct reconnaisance of our positions and strengths. The Dragons have ordered you, the warriors of Faeo, to conduct combat operations to eliminate the enemy spies and prevent the Army of Chaos's invasion, headed by General UyarrMO, into our world!

Speak with your Dragon,  Erifarius or  Striagorn, then hunt down and destroy the enemy scouts which may be lurking in any part of Faeo. Upon killing a Gungl, you will receive his hatchet as proof of your victory.

You have until 28th July to wipe out as many Gungl Scouts as you can and collect their hatchets to present to your Dragon. The Dragon will generously reward you with valour for the hatchets you bring. In addition, the 250 heroes from each race who kill the most Gungls and prove their loyalty to their nation beyond any doubt will be admitted to the grand Battle of the Dragons, which will take place on the Plateau of Silence at 1800 Faeo time on 28th July.*

Magmars will find their Dragon,  Striagorn, slumbering in Hell's Pass, whilst Humans will find theirs,  Erifarius, playing chess with Death in the Foothills of Chions Mountains on the continent of Ogriy.

*N.B. As with last month, for technical reasons, the two Dragons will begin the fight to ensure all participants are in one battle and then time-out immediately, leaving the brave warriors of each race to do battle. Last race standing wins.

We apologise for these ongoing technical issues and are working hard to resolve them.

 A Mystical Gathering18.07.2008 18:01

New quest for level 7 and above warriors!

A great honour has befallen  Oden the Mage - he has been appointed to head the annual convocation of mages and wizards, who are coming from all corners of Faeo. Not to be outdone, Brugil'da the Sorceress is heading the annual Sabbath of witches and sorceresses. Everything has been going swimmingly for the both of them in the run up to the prestigious events except for one thing - practically all the guests that have been invited, be they witch or wizard, were pensioned off from military affairs long ago and no longer possess the fine physique of young warriors (if they ever did!)

This is not a problem, you might think, what with their broomsticks and pointy hats, but the bloodthirsty Saber-tooth tigers and Valdagor wolves, which prowl around Brugil'da and Oden's abodes, are licking their lips in anticipation. Oden, of the Ridge of Kayar, and Brugil'da, residing in the Village of Maettro, want you to guarantee the security of their guests and send the tigers and wolves packing. It's the perfect opportunity to sharpen your swords and pick up some experience before the dastardly Gungls arrive...
