This device looks funny and not very effective, but don't try and say that to its creator, the dark mage! He could turn you into something nasty if you say such a thing! The Necro-Energy Catcher only works well on burial ground. Outside of such grounds it is as useless as a regular canister. By the way, it must be used after Mirrow has set because that is when the energy of the dead is especially high! Bald Stake! Quest.
