The molten glass does not remain hot for long, and as soon as it cools, the tree decoration receives a layer of paint and some gilding. The glassblower places the bauble on the richly decorated tree and grunts: something is missing. The goes to visit a famous mage and asks him to apply his magical talents to make the sphere glow like the tendrils of light in the night sky over the countries of the distant north.
