The summer is coming to an end. We have enjoyed the last hot summer days and are looking forward to a little cooler air. The days are getting shorter, the nights and shadows getting longer.
You have stayed too late in the tavern discussing past battles with your friends and celebrating your victories. The darkness has taken you by surprise, last week it was much lighter at the same time. You are in a good mood and a bit more distracted than usual because of the Shiz beers.
It's not far to your country estate, just through the last few dark alleys.
Something rustles to your left - but when you look around you can't see anything. Maybe you just imagined it...
When you turn the next corner, you stop short, startled. A shadow on the wall freezes you. It moves toward you, getting bigger and bigger. Finally the shock breaks and you draw your sword.
The next moment, a black cat jumps out of the bushes and the shadow is gone. The animal just looks at you with big, green eyes. Maybe, just maybe, next time you should celebrate a little less...
You recover from the shock. But this shadow “fight” somehow impressed you.
