Forum Restructuring | 17.06.2008 20:31 |
Dear esteemed warriors of Faeo!
As of Thursday 19th June 2008, we are planning to restructure the forums in order to improve the way we deal with them and the way in which problems are reported. We will be removing a number of the forum sections which invite repetition or are generally unnecessary. We will first hide all the forum sections that will be deleted and go through them to pull out any important issues before we actually delete them, so do not worry if an important post of yours disappears. If it is important, we will deal with it.
We propose to introduce the following structure:
City Pub - for general game talk and discussion. Administration - a direct line to the administration for important issues requiring our attention. This should include error reports. Payment Errors - for errors relating to PayPal and the integrated SMS system only. Problems with the external payment system should be addressed to mENABLE/txtNation directly. Off-topic - everything not game-related, such as Euro 2008, the state of the world and anything Scuba Steve has to say... Game Guides - for player-written guides. Hall of Mentors - for Mentors only. Mentor Applications - for Mentor applications. Human Guards - for Human players to seek the help of a Guard. Magmar Guards - for Magmar players to seek the help of a Guard. Human Trade - for Human players to arrange trade deals. Magmar Trade - for Magmar players to arrange trade deals. Hall of Languages - for players to communicate in other languages.
We hope this new, smaller, more dynamic system will allow us to respond to posts quicker, keep issues better organised and prevent problems being multiply across different sections. In return, we would ask players to make sure that before posting a new topic, there is not already a relevant one open. In addition, we would ask that you use the forums as your first point of contacting us for all issues, and that you do not rely on in-game chat or in-game mail. It is far easier for us to work through forums than chat and game mail. Often, when we are in the game, we are testing something or checking something and not in a position to deal with requests and problems immediately, i.e. we are not simply sitting there.
Essentially, this new system will create two main points of contact with us. For payment errors, you should use the Payment Errors forum. For anything else, e.g. bugs, you should use the Administration section. Do not expect answers from us in the other forums, though we may pop into the City Pub for a swift half from time to time, or even voice an opinion in the Off-topic section. We may add other sections as required in the future.
It is the responsibility of all of us to keep it tidy, and it is our responsibility, and intention, to improve our response to your issues.
If you think there are any vital sections we have missed, please note them below this news item and we will give them due consideration.
UPDATE: The new forum sections have now been implemented. In addition to the planned sections, there are also the Mentor Advice, Arena Tournaments and Clan Embassies sections. The first should be used to seek the advice of Mentors on game issues, the second to arrange tournaments, the third for clan talk.

What about a forum section for suggestions for improving the game? |

Why don't I... get my own section!
Where people can take pictures of me, holding their baby.
And Santa will be there, and the Easter Bunny, and all the Founding Fathers of Micronesia!
It will be great! |

Oh... and I have another request. I like how there is no limit as to how long my posts
can be, that or it is a highly unreachable level in which I shall train like an Olympian to break if it exists but please do not put a limit on the length of the post. Cuz that cuts out all the funniness of my jokes... hey, gonna run off-topic a bit. Who here watches the show Doug Funny? |

Scuba, but you do..."Off-topic - everything not game-related, such as Euro 2008, the state of the world and anything Scuba Steve has to say..."
Schoenberg - i think, to start with, put them in City Pub as general chat and if we get lots of things coming up, we may open up a separate section again. The issue with this is that although ideas from players are very much welcome, the original version of the game is generally 2-3 months ahead of us, plus 2-3 months development and planning...so suggestions from our version are effectively 6 months behind the pace. So, use the City Pub, if we see anything indispensable we can pass it on. And if it's something directly related to the way we run this version, address it to us via Administration. |

Yeah but um... thats other people. How about an off-topic section Including Scuba Steve and one excluding me... just incase people hate me. You know, precautionary measures.
And also one for people who are lactose intolerant, cuz they never seem to get enough recognition. |

I think a general "help" section, which can be monitered by the mentors is a good idea..
Unrelated to the game guides section, where new players can just ask questions about the game (which would keep such topics out of the City Pub and Hall of Admin and Mentors sections) |

simple comments...
one...many people change their names...just for fun...or being emotionally unstable...or whatever...but some of them need that...
please...put someone to a little work...and make him change not only ladieshelike names...
but to everybody is in need...
two...scuba stefanovitch...if you'll be fun...you'll have a vote...if not...well...even you're a nice kid...you're still a weak commander...
three...kerberos has a good ideea...
four...i really don't understand why the aplication process for a new clan is such hard administration work...or...related to my nuber one point...take far too long for a simple request...
i understand the fact that the game is hard to be kept in good shape...
but...well...the lag monster attacks like in the good ol' days of duke nukem...
he he he ...so...come on...
last point...i didn't fully understood that game...so i don't want to waste your precious time and apply to become a guard...this game reminds me diablo combined with heroes IV...superb textures...good music (foothills score is fantastic)...well organised...
everything is where it supposed to be...
apart one thing...everybody who acts decent must find his place...even lactose intolerant people...(the fore fathers...he he he ...)...
not only full of ready to be spent good ol' cold cash emotionally disturbed kids...
or russian drug advertising players...or...
i think you've got the point...and i'll stop here...
that point and click hack and slash uber game must live...
but please...with a little bit of decency...if is possible...
i'll wait for the good news...cause of bad...uh...i have enough... |
