The Portal Wars: The Legacy of Talaar Prologue: The mighty battle of the Gods
Once there was equilibrium among the powers of the universe. Until one of the two gods eager to gain more power and driven by dreams of lucre sought to upset the balance. Tallaar had been feeling superior to his counterpart Or'Werron for quite some time. It was not long before a battle broke out among them that would last for aeons, devastating the universe, filling it with death and destruction. But even with all his powers Tallaar was not able to gain the upper hand over his enemy. So he secretly began forging a massive blade, a blade that would finally put an end to his adversary. Once it was completed, he held it into the swirling ever changing flow of dimensions which imbued it with unthinkable powers.
But Or'Werron was not idle either. For a long time he had been aware of his opponent's plans and developed his own countermeasures: While Tallaar was busying himself with his weapon, Or'Werron bound the dimensional powers into a mighty shield – Farandir! As the gods met in battle and their weapons struck for the first time all the energies that had been stored in the equipment lashed out and distorted time-space around the fighting gods. Until – finally – the weapons fractured releasing all the energy in one devastating blast, which ripped part of the universe to pieces and showered the stars in small fragments of the deadly devices. Some made suns erupt, extinguishing all life around them. Others fell on planets and slid under ice and stone, to end up buried deep beneath the surface. One of these hit a blue-green world that would later, much later, be known as Faeo.
