Crushing Items

Crushing Items

Instead of selling or destroying your used armour, you can crush it to obtain valuable fragments. To be able to do this you will need an item in your backpack and a Scroll of Crushing. The scroll can be bought in the Guild of Artisans profession's shop.

You can crush any piece of armour with following exceptions:
Temporary armour, Belts, Bags, Jewelry, Quivers and Profession Tools.

After obtaining a scroll you can use it from your backpack, in which you can choose the item you want to crush from the menu and confirm the action.

NOTE!! The item you want to crush should be in the backpack.

You will be notified of the corresponding fragments in the chat log.

19:50 You have used destructive magic on Chrome Long Dagger and received Crimson Shining Fragment 123 pcs

Types of Fragments

Depending on the color and the level of the item you are crushing, the fragments will be different.

The color of the armour in which the scroll is used on determines whether the resulting fragments are flickering, sparkling or shining. Grey items split into flickering, Green items into sparkling and Blue items into shining fragments

The type of fragments depends on the level of item in which the scroll is used on. Items with level 1-5 into fragments, 6-10 into fragments, 11-15 into crystals and 16-20 into fragments

NOTE! The amount of fragments recieved depends on the items durability. Items with less durability than their maximum will yield less fragments when crushing, proportional to the items durability.

It is possible to obtain some fragments as a drop from corresponding monsters which scale with their level.

It is also possible to get fragments from the Luck Glow event

Crushing Armour

Crushing armour yields various fragments. Below is a table of the fragments you may get after splitting different pieces of equipment

NOTE! The armour obtained from silent chambers in the Derelict house, King Magish Palace and Exiles Fortress have 30% durability, meaning you only recieve 30% of the fragments listed below.

Use of Fragments

After creating runes for your armour, with crystals from destroying items, the runes which are slotted can now be upgraded.
To upgrade the rune you will need a special item called elements, created by the jeweler profession with fragments from crushing items.

To upgrade runes in Cuisses/Cuirass you will need to have Turquoise fragments from Cuisses/Cuirass. ( B'yal / Geb )
To upgrade rune in Chainmails you will need to have Slate Grey fragments from Chainmails/Shoes. ( Ing )
To upgrade runes in Weapons you will need to have Crimson fragments from Weapons/Bows. ( Fav / Gar )
To upgrade runes in Pauldrons/Bracers you will need to have Azure fragments from Pauldrons/Bracers ( Chud / Mirt ).
To upgrade runes in Helmets you will need to have Scarlet fragments from Helmets ( Tias ).

To create elements for levels 1-10 you will need all three colors of their fragments.
However you will not need grey fragments for levels 11-20.
Grey fragments don't have any application on levels 11-20.

Additionally fragments are used to illuminate armour at levels 6-20.
(Changing the armour type from non-valour to valour)
